This isn't dogs, livestock or even small kids. This is a grown man.

Seems to me I read somewhere that there had never been a documented case of a wolf attacking a human. I didn't believe that then and I don't believe it now. Good thing he was armed.

    Blessings.........Pastorjim

He was very lucky. There was an article a year or two ago as I recall about a girl bow hunting and a wolf came at her and she stopped it at about ten yards with a pistol. Did a quick check I found this other article about a guy shooting stalking wolves. http://www.spokesman.com/blogs/hbo/2012/sep/14/idaho-bow-hunter-kills-stalking-wolf/
Wolves in India, Russia and elsewhere kill humans, seems perfectly reasonable that they would do the same here if they could. It pays to pack...

But the DNR doesn't want to admit it. Just as they've been reluctant to admit to there being Mt Lions up here in the MN, WI area.

I never wanted to believe their story to begin with and I definitely don't after seeing one myself a couple years ago in Grand Rapids, MN.

Maybe it's time to justify that 300 BLK pistol build. :)

Im sorry to say. I pray this won't happen but all it would take is one little boy killed at the bus stop and wolf policy would change. I hope it never comes to that. They are getting more bold
    It would appear to me.

carrying a sidearm in NY while bowhunting is illegal. Even with a full carry. Is this only a stupid NY law ?

Florida is pretty good except during bow season when one place I hunt won't allow a backup. I think Massachusetts doesn't allow carrying a pistol during bow season.

Sounds like he's a lucky dude.

I've been within 30 yards of wolves a number of times. Always had the same reaction. They ran as soon as they saw me or smelled me.

Statistically I'm more likely to be struck by lightning and then trampled by a moose.

Agree that odds wise we all do way riskier things. That is for sure. Hopefully this is isolated and not a patter.
