I'm in the market for a new set of binoculars in the next couple of days for season. Looking for something that will be good for whitetail hunting in the midwest. any suggestions?

Vortex Viper HDs or Nikon Monarch 7s. I prefer 10X however a lot of guys I know like the 8X as well.

I was thinking the 10x as well. The property I hunt is a lot more open than most around here

Bushnell Legend Ultra 10x for me, reasonable price and they came with a nice case and harness as well.

Has anyone used the vortex warranty. It says it's unconditional so if you like dropped them out of a stand or something completely your fault they would replace or fix them?

No but I've heard stories of guys trucks burning with vortex items in there. They replaced them. Also know a guy who's dog chewed up his binoculars and they replaced them. Love my diamondback 10x42!

I was comparing scheels brand 10x 42 vs the vortex. The extra 20 bucks sounds worth it to get the vortex with the warranty

It's a no questions asked warranty. They'll either fix or replace regardless of what happens.

Big Baller $$$. I also have the Vortex and viewed them side by side with the Swarovski , Leica, Zeiss, Nikon, and Steiners. The best quality was the Swarovski next i liked the Vortex. But the price dif was a no brainer..... Would like a pair of Swarovskis one day though, crystal clear and the light transmission is un believable

Zen-Ray 2015 ZRS HD (Summit) 10x42 Waterproof Binoculars. Pick them up for $209 on a open box at cameraland. Haven't used them yet but lots of guys seem to like them at that price point
