Finally registered. Been reading and following for years. Big fan of the weekly webshow (even though I hoard them for deer season...). I claim to be the world's worst deer hunter, but think that I am pretty good at hunting turkey. Started hunting 25 years ago. Hunted for anything that I could legally hunt (Squirrel, rabbit, pheasant, and gun deer). I didn't know anything or have anyone that took me under their wing, so it was rough. When my oldest brother got off of Active Duty with the US Army, he would take me hunting with him, but it was still very much the blind leading the blind. Finally shot my first deer after 12 years of faithfully going afield. Actually shot it while using my brother as a rifle rest. He convinced me to try turkey hunting in the spring while I was still pumped from finally having a successful deer hunt. Learned how to call via a CD on our drive to turkey camp. Ran that slate call and shot a real nice tom. That had me hooked and I was finally starting to learn some woodsmanship. One of my good friends is really active with the outdoors, and he convinced me to try bowhunting in 2010 after I got home from my second tour in Iraq. I killed a couple of deer the first year, and have learned SO much. My friend's dad and uncles have adopted me to teach me about hunting. I have a very supportive wife and a great little girl (2 yrs). Hope you all can enjoy from me even half as much as I have enjoyed from all of you.
