I tried to take my wife over there last week... but she was feeling the call to our daughter's in Ill instead. Perhaps in the next few weeks we can get over to see some at Dent's Run.

If you go to the back field at the Elk Center about 2 hours before dark you will see plenty, Several nice bulls. I'd imagine some fighting going on in the next week or so,

My family drove to elk county when I in my teens. We were all bummed out after seeing nothing at one of the overlooks - but on our way out their were two big bulls in someone's yard. Pretty awesome to see. Hopefully I'll be able to draw a tag at some point.

Thanks for sharing Windwalker7. I have seen my best bull fights in Pa, even though I have traveled to Wyo Montana Idaho Colorado and Alberta.

How is the elk herd doing over there? The last time I rifle hunted there about 3 years ago they were just starting to creep into our area near Clarion. I was really interested in maybe doing an elk hunt some day over there, I'm glad the elk are making their way back.

    A whole lot of luck.

Non-residents have the same chance (whatever that is) to draw a tag as a resident. Unsuccessful applicants earn preference points towards the next year's draw. The book is rather vague (can't imagine that) on the specifics.

I've been applying since it all started. I'm still waiting to draw a tag as is everyone else.

Sorry...didn't mean that the way it looks..just meant it is near impossible to draw.
