I'm looking for the best way to clean arrows from the "gummies" that are left after stripping off wraps. I 've tried using my zip strip followed by immersing the arrow in boiling water to soften the remaining gum then trying to wipe it down with mediocre results. I know there has to be an easier way, refletched two dozen arrows last night and the most time consuming part was cleaning them. Ideas?
I use the quickfletch wraps then fletch my arrow. Since they are shrink wrapped on when you strip them off there is no residue left on the shaft. The vanes tear before the wrap. Very durable Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
When I was a NEWB I tried cleaning off quick fletch residue by submerging the arrow in a bottle of acetone. Worked great, no more sticky junk on the arrow shaft. Just make sure you remove you nocks before doing the acetone bath. It'll eat them up too...ask me how I know
Isopropyl alcohol on a rag is what I have always used works great and usually always have a bottle in the house.
