Just got a new Hoyt Faktor, never had to deal with Cam Lean before. This is bugging me though. My left limb is lower at rest and not touching my air shock as much as the right. Am i good, or should i make a stop into the shop, i dont want to destroy my new bow.
If you can, shoot it through paper and see how your yoke tuning is. My bowtech Experience slightly has cam lean for it to be in tune. SO that is something that I would check before freaking out. If the bow is brand new, never shot, then I would take it to get it tuned if you don't have the equipment to tune it yourself. Another thing, I had my bowtech completely in tune and then the cables stretched. It stretched a lot and the cam lean was more then it needed to be. I then took it to get tuned at the shop and it was fixed right up.
My Experience seems to have some lean too. It still shoots well so I didn't think much of it, but are there any long term problems cam lean can cause? It's not going to hurt anything is it?
My Faktor 30 had a crazy amount of top cam lean in order to shoot paper, never could get it to shoot fixed blade's so I sold it. The cam lean wouldn't bother me as much as the limbs. Did you buy this new?
Your Experience has easily the most tunable cams on the market. Your shop should be able to clean that lean up very easily. Usually what will happen with a leaning cam is you have to compromise on true centershot to compensate for the lean on bows that won't let you yoke tune. The Overdrive Binary on your Experience has yokes on both ends though.
Yes i bought it new, im just gonna talk to the guy at the bow shop monday and see what he has to say since i bought it from him
Lean at full draw is more important than lean at brace (or pre-lean). I yoke tune and bareshaft tune my bows and it is not uncommon to have some pre-lean but be good at full draw and have a bow that shoots bareshafts and fixed blades perfectly. That is why a draw board is such a useful tool to own. Yours looks a bit excessive of course. I am just sharing info.
Are you sure it's cam lean?...I mean you are using the air shox as an indicator not the cam...perhaps the air shox itself is just off. I would suggest adjusting the air shox first then looking at cam lean.
