I know that waxing your bow string will help lengthen the strings life. But how often? Do you need to wax it every day you shoot? Or is a few times a year good?
I do mine every now and again. And after hunting in foul weather conditions. Probably nowhere near often enough.
Depends on how much I shoot. In the off-season I do it more often if it is really warm when I shoot. Not sure if this is right either.
Never wax anymore my bow is kept in a climate controlled atmosphere and the strings never get fuzzy. I replace them every other year and they seem to work just fine.
I was recently told by the lead tech at my bow shop that I shouldn't be waxing my strings, except where the string stop was. Was going to post a similar thread about this asking everyone's thoughts. Sent from my Nexus 6 using Tapatalk
I do mine a few times(2-3) a year or if I notice any fuzzing. With that said I've also had strings on bows for 8-9 years without waxing once and had zero issues...how important is it with today's materials?...I don't know
I wax mine about once a month but I feel like I remember someone telling me one time I needed to wax it every other time I shoot.. That seems way too often to me
I did wax mine but it frayed on other locations. I think the 2 year rotation is a good idea, which may get me shooting more often so I get more miles out of my string.
Waxing a string is something that should be done sparingly. Wax on a string can kill accuracy. If you feel the need to wax, make sure you clean the string and use a high quality wax. Sent from my SM-N910V using Tapatalk
