I have a coworker with a Mathews LX that has little use. He says he shot about 100 arrows and put it away in a hard case in his basement. He shoots a long bow and decided he wasn't interested in a compound. He has the bow set up ready to hunt, a dozen carbon arrows and a hard case. He said he would throw in the release he bought at the same time. What do I need to look at or replace on a bow that has been sitting for several years?
That's about a 12 year old bow. I know it has hardly been shot but I would be a little concerned with the string. I'd take it to a bow shop and ask them what they thought of the string. Other than that the bow should be in great shape. Its extremely rare to find a bow that old with that few shots.
