With the 2015 season already open for some and set to start within the month for most I'd like to take a minute and pray for all those hitting the woods. I acknowledge this might offend those of differing spiritual opinion so if you do not find that you can read or appreciate at the least the belief in Jesus Christ as your savior than please close this thread and refrain from commenting....for the rest: Dear Heavenly Father, I come to you before countless brothers and sisters will hit the woods in pursuit of your creation. Many are mothers, fathers, sisters and brothers to countless family members...and it is for that which we pray. We pray that you keep each one safe as they take a step deeper into the woods or step higher up a tree, as they approach their ground-blind or attach their safety harness overlooking your creation. Wherever they are please be with them. Bless their hunt in that you keep them safe and keep them warm and above all else that they return to their homes and loved ones. Bless their hunt as you bless us each day, not because we deserve it but because you love us...and may we always remember that with each hunt we receive. Take our moments in the woods and fields to teach us to appreciate You. Appreciate our loved ones...appreciate life. Help us to slow down and de-clutter our minds as only your creation can do, and return to our lives recharged and changed because of it. Many of your sons and daughters will experience highs and lows this season, Father be there especially for the lows. Be there to remind us in the grand scheme of things this is such a small and insignificant aspect...and remind us of the same when experiencing the highs as well. Remind us by you all things are, and to be grateful to you should be naturally placed first before all things. Father, I ask that as your sons and daughters pursue your great creation that you will be with their discernment. Be with them as they are faced with choices...choices which mold the man or woman they are. Keep them from taking an ill-advised or illegal shot...keep them from utilizing any illegal tactics or tag any illegal animal. Help your sons and daughters protect the integrity of this great sport by being representatives of You throughout it. In that discernment Lord there will come times of potential harvest and arrows will be released and bullets fired. I ask that you be with each, and if it be your will they fly true and on target...creating a swift expiration of your great creature we call a whitetail deer. This sport called hunting Lord is a blessing, and blessings come from You. Allow us to not lose sight of that and throughout this 2015 season keep our lives in the proper perspective: First God, then family...then hunting. Amen. I hope some luck comes my way but I will enjoy just being out there regardless. I pray for everyone's safety and that all return home each and every day, accident free.
