Go into your settings, you can turn off the blinking red light as well as the sound when you turn the camera on/off

I did not turn off the light but I did turn off the sound. However, I got the blackout housing which covers the red and blue lights. I actually filmed myself shooting today and was pleased

The audio is only good for about 4ft. and thats with a skeleton housing. I'm researching lapel mics now. You can see a vid i made with the hero 4 of setting up for self filming. I had to fix the audio in an editing program as best i could. This cam is got a lot of settings so if i were you i'd figure it out before trying to hunt with it.https://vimeo.com/138266531
