Have not watched the show but one would think that you would shut the camera off and get help, rather than shooting more footage. Posting the whole affair is self promotion and I understand that is what these people need to do but it is also what makes these shows and the actors look stupid to a person who has half a brain.

His spear fell out of the tree and hit him in the leg.

He was spear hunting in Africa, the one day he was alone self filming. While up in the tree he dropped his camera, he climbed down to retrieve it amd ssid he broke his number 1 spear hunting rule. Always secure the spear so it can't inadvertently drop and hurt someone. When he was on the ground, the wind picked up a good gust amd dislodged the spear and it plunged through his thigh. His radio and water was still 15 feet above him in the tree.

Hunting in Africa walking for help bleeding like that would be more dangerous than waiting for help. There are lot of critters over there very good at blood trailing and eating meat :) .

He's been slocked. Maybe the dumbest term I have heard any of these T.V. types use.

I doubt he did this for self promotion

I'd be willing to bet there is also a lot of goodbye's and messages to loved ones filmed that won't be released.

He sliced through tendons and couldn't use his leg, had no water and it was bleeding heavily. I don't think there was any options other than sitting there and waiting for one of two things to happen. Rescue or death.

It's a heck of a reminder, that could very easily be a fall from a treestand

Read his replies in the comment section after the video and tell me it wasn't promotional or that it was as dire as played out in the video. Remember the footage is edited and there is always a happy ending, I know you have to somewhat suspend belief to watch a TV hunting show but try to not get sucked in..

I read the replies, not saying that he isn't looking back on it now and promoting it. To say he was then and should have went for help is what I was referring to.

Guess we'll never know what we'd do until it actually happens. Never seen his shows or even know who he is, but I'd guess a lot of people who are used to hamming it up on camera probably would have done the same thing. What else can you do?

If we see Justin take an arrow to the chest, then we'll know it's a promotional scam trend by pro-staffers in the hunting industry. Bow Hunt or Die, literally.

This is crazy stuff. I think it's good to post the footage, it gives others the awareness that you can get really hurt if you don't follow the basic safety rules. Reminds me of when Tex Grebner shot himself on the leg...

You'd think he would use something other than his thumb to apply pressure on the wound. Looks like it hurt though.

Why didn't he pull his pants up? At least he's recovering.

Looks like a goodbye.. this is what happened to me when you find me dead video. I for one like Tim. I enjoy watching his hunts. Like him or not he is probably better than most of us and more successful.

I find it hard to judge a person on their intentions. It doesn't make much sense to me. He got injured, and he said he released this video in order to promote safety. I have to take him at his word for that, and I hope he makes a speedy recovery.
