The deer on the right. One of the biggest body deer I have ever seen here in NC. Any guess on his age? I know this isn't the best picture to judge from, but oddly enough...I could never get him in the center of the frame - he always ate from the edges. I think he's on to our trail cameras haha
Awesome Buck Bog Phil!! He is a Big One! I would say he is a 4.5 year old deer. Once he packs on weight for the Rut he will be well over 200 lbs and a HAUL to get out of the woods. The big bucks I have on trailcams do not like the red leds of an IR camera. They will come in on a white flash and black flash but not an IR. They always stay to the right or left of the camera.
A good friend of mine that I went to NCSU with that now works for Mossy Oak Properties also said 4.5 years old. Oddly, in my opinion, he has the antler growth of a 2.5yo; maybe 16.5" wide with 6" tines. I'm going to let this deer go this year and hope that he returns in 2016 so I can learn a little bit more about his genetics.
