How many guys film their own hunts here? Me and my friends have always messed around with cameras and filming the previous couple of years but have never actually decided to do anything with the footage we've gotten. Until this year that is, we're planning on making 3-4 20 minute long episodes about our season and would love to get some feedback, tips, and views from fellow bow hunting addicts. We will venture deeper into our properties and show you all of our action almost as it happens! The footage and editing will only get better as the season rolls around on September 12th! I would love to get some replies from this community and start a nice thread about filming and hunting in general. I'm sure there are other threads similar to this but I haven't looked around the site that much yet. I hope you enjoy our video and follow along on our season!

Love to film my own hunts. This year I am switching to DSLR filming so things should be interesting. Good luck with your venture.

This site has a HUGE following of self filming guys (mainly because of BHOD). There's a lot of helpful and knowledgeable people here.

This will be my first year self filming

We both have thermacells, don't worry! No bugs are gonna stop us from being in the stand early season or any part of the season!

Filming your hunts is a great way to reflect and learn from past hunts. Good luck!

I started self filming last year. It definitely adds a whole new challenge to the hunt in order to pull it off successfully. I had some frustrations last year that discouraged me, but most of it was equipment related. I've made several changes to my approach for this year, so I'm hopeful it will work out better. There are things you will learn over time about what works and doesn't work for your own situation and how you hunt.

FYI in case you didn't know, there's a sub forum specifically for videography as well. Best of luck this season!

    Need Some Opinions

Hey guys so I made a new better video, it's a lot shorter and just has some old footage in it. Please tell me it's better than our first 23 minute long video

Definitely, even setting stands or clearing lanes you should always have your harness on. That video made my cringe a little lol.

Same here. Every time I see someone not using one I cringe. I learned that lesson the hard way about 10 years ago. I was fortunate enough to only suffer some broken ribs and orbital. Got a nice titanium plate in my face to remind me everyday.
