Found this perspective intriguing. I wasn't aware that populations got that low in the '50s. http://www.dnr.state.mn.us/mcvmagazine/issues/2015/sep-oct/moose-in-minnesota.html
Reading this article Fitz, there hurt'in again! Count your blessings there are a ton of people out there that only can say they have seen pictures of them and you actually have got up an close. There's soooooo much, we as hunter's get to see due to being on stand . Rocky
We're having similar issues in Vt, state is claiming ticks and Brainworm as well. My family owns a good chunk of prime moose habitat with access to much more bordering ours. This area is usually home to many good Bulls with a few good ones regularly using ours. I was lucky enough to draw my first tag this year and wouldn't you know it, I can't buy a trail cam pic of a bull! Couple cows and a decent amount of cow/calf sign but we have yet to find any bull sign on our property or the neighbors. We have without a doubt seen a decline in numbers, however considering the lack of bulls and abundant cow sign I'm starting to question if it's over hunting of bulls.
