I've been pulling older larger logs out to the edge of my food plots. Instead of starting from scratch, I'd like to hear what you've done and used. Donkey Butter vs. Liquid Caine vs. Molasses, etc.

Buck name acorn scented is what I've gotten the best result out of. And I usually find an old stump but a real dead log works too. Just takes more over a long period of time to get it engrained in the wood.

I make my own mineral mix works great around my area. Two parts trace mineral, 2 two parts stock salt, 1 part di calcium phosphate. I don't know about the benefits of it to the heard but it gets me in for some pictures. It all depends on what you are trying to achieve. Look into monster raxx supposed to be lights out. I have yet to pull the trigger on some but from around the forums it appears to have a great rep and pics of the proof.

I believe stumps or rotten logs are the best because you don't need to stick to a low moist area for minerals than are used in dirt. You can place a rotten log anywhere for optimum shooting opportunities when deer come to it.

I have no experience with the attractants you listed and how they interact with logs....mineral I do but not attractants.

    Rotten Logs work great.

Side note.... The person who came up with the name "donkey butter" needs to be fired immediately.
