I don't see anything that would show potential or not. Usually you can't tell till they are 2 or 3 what kind of potential they are going to have, but those are just yearling bucks.
Ah okay, this is my first year of scouting and really preparing to hunt, I had no idea all of those were yearlings!
Yes they do. Like others said, if they get the right nutrition all year and they have good genetics, they will grow a lot!
At this point and as far as anyone can tell, they all have unlimited potential. A 1.5 year old buck looks like a doe with antlers and they could grow anything next year and following years. They are limited by the area genetics to a certain extent but nutrition and stress (or lack of) is a bigger contributor and takes precedent over genetics in most parts of the country. If they have plenty of food, mineral and a lack of pressure from predators...they have a good chance at growing respectable antler and that's been shown to hold true over the entire country.
These are the bigger ones around, we have around 50 acres that's either corn or soybeans each year (corn this year) and as for predators, I've only have gotten 1 coyote on camera so far in the 3 months I've had it set out.
