2 single antler bucks

    Pulled my card today and had these guys on it each is missing the opposite antlers. Third pick is just all 3 I have on cam, this is public land.

    I see them missing one side every now and then but two that hang out together is pretty weird. Gotta be a genetic thing I would think.

    ive got a couple bucks just like that where im at but cant shoot em cause of point restriction (not that i would) could just be early growth injuries

    It's not genetics, that's not how genetics work. Injury or they just broke 1 off, no big deal.

    So if a buck has one side and his offspring also has one side then it still can't be genetics? I only ask because we had this happen at our farm a couple years ago. Both of them only had one side, one was a nic 4 point side and the other was a 2 point

    High fence? That would be the only way you'd know it's his offspring.

    No just assumed since they both had the same basic structure and hung around together. I'm not saying I know anything about genetics just wondering if its a possibility

    Do you use shed traps? Pedicle damage is what causes this, from injuries such as sparring or possibly from shed traps.

    No shed traps,they just showed up in my area for 1st time that week,I'm guessing sparing but we should find out here pretty soon when i take one of them. Will post pics
