    good Lord are the burr oaks dropping mast this year.
    spent a few hours at the cabin and in 30 years, i've never seen them drop this many.
    here is a new buck that showed up to feast on the bounty.

    I always start the season hunting over the white oak acorns here in SE Pa, they can't resist them! I don't have bucks like him at my acorns though! lol

    Yup Oaks are having a great crop this year.. It's even early for them to start falling and they are already in abundance with out the heavy winds being the culprit of them dropping out of the trees. Hunting around White oaks during most of October is also my favorite strategy.
