Has anyone ever purchased a Ozone generator other than the ozonics system? I am looking at building a Ozone closet for my gear and was wondering if there are any decent ozone generators out there at a good price. Ive seen a couple around $30 but not sure how well they will do.
I set up a small tent in my yard, more than enough generated to work well. I also use it around the house, I use it in the mudroom/dog room. I will look at my past purchases to see if I can get more info on the unit i bought.
The unit I have shoots out 400 mg/h E-bay item # 271399174626 lasers-us is the seller. Works well at a decent price.
Foreverozone 7000 mg/h Shock Treatment Ozone Generator. I bought one of these and this thing puts off an unbelievable amount of ozone.
Stupid question....how do you know if it works well or not? Based on your personal smell? Legit questions as I've never dealt with ozone before. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
I tested it in a restroom at work back in the shop, it cleared that odor. The humid smell of wet dogs in the mudroom, it gets rid of that. That is what I base does it work or not. I am super scent conscious and it is another level to add to the prep.
Awesome, thanks. I'm looking into getting one. Does the space its in, ie tent etc need to be confined so the ozone covers all parts of the clothes? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
My tent is a man and a half pop up tent so not real big. I turn on the ozone machine set the timer for a half hour and get in the shower. When I go out to the tent I reset the timer and let it run as I get dressed.I leave all my camo and base layers, bow release, boots etc all in the tent.
Can you over do it? Like if it doesn't have a timer and I just leave it on over night it wont be a bad thing right? Sorry for another dumb question. Im sure it wont, just want to confirm.
Ozone will break down rubber or soft plastics, inside bins you really don't need much. I prefer the idea of a hanging closet to treat clothing, it is all about surface area exposure and hanging rather than stuffed in a bin seems the more effective way to go. Not sure I would leave the machine running more than an hour in a closed environment,
Copy thank you! I have a probably 4' by 4' by 2' deep outdoor closet type thing. Not big enough to really hand clothes, but I should be able to get more surface area exposed and its not air tight, so the ozone should get enough oxygen to work. I need to clean it out, sure its full of spiders lol. But think that's my plan. And will probably buy the Whitetail'R ScentPURGE 50. Im sure its not top of the line but sounds like it should work. Sucks Eders has it and better price, but they don't have any 3 packs of lifelines in stock currently, so looks like Ill buy from amazon. http://www.amazon.com/WHITETAILR-40...&ie=UTF8&qid=1440603800&sr=1-1&keywords=ozone
Ikea has a good sized portable closet I am going to buy. $45 for the closet and 3 drawer. I used these when I use to detail cars and would notice an odd smell if ran for an extensive time. I plan on using it like the way Sota mentioned with the possible 30 min the night before. Thanks for the recommendation, the Ozonizer is still on ebay at a good price.
Its all BS IMO. Does it work how its advertised...probably, but ozone gases are also poisonous to humans. No reason to poison yourself for clothing.
I don't think it would be poisonous unless you wore your whole outfit in a concealed area and ozoned it.
Ended up buying the Ozonizer on ebay for $38 shipped and picked up a closet at IKEA for $35. Has room for 3 shelves with drawers for gloves or mask. It should be able to fit inside our camper and should fit two full sets of camo. Thanks for suggestion Sota, we shall see how it works on Oct 1st
Even some exposure to the gas can cause damage and even death in some people. How do you plan on keeping it from leaking out of the closet? You'd probably be better off by putting you clothing in big bins with charcoal on the bottom.
