Scrolling through Facebook and this was a suggested post. I watched the video and became skeptical. How much do you think the moon effects mature buck's behavior?

at first I didn't think much of it but I found around where I hunt if the moon is full good luck catching a mature deer during daylight so I always keep an eye out for what phase the moon is in

It is one of those things that ups your odds when used correctly. It does not mean a slam dunk. It is just another variable you should use to your advantage. BTW, you don't need that calendar. Just look when the moon is overhead and underfoot in the first few hours of daylight and last few hours of daylight and you have your best days per the moon.

I definitely believe the moon plays a factor in the movements, just as weather, temp, barometric pressure....as for which train of thought I lean from my records to that of Bill Vale.

I am skeptical that this device will improve my chances more than any other moon calendar, or that it can tell us where to hunt on a specific day.

Only sure fire way I know of to improve my odds is to be in the woods hunting. If you are not out, you ain't getting squat.

I've always wondered. Less moon is better for hunting? I've always notice the deer seem to move a little earlier if there is less moon. The full moon nights it stays lighter long and the deer move later.

It has nothing to do with less moon or more moon. Deer have the urge to feed when the moon is underfoot or overhead. Since most deer movement naturally occurs Early and late in the day the moon also being overhead or underfoot on those days makes it more likely those deer will be a little later getting to their beds or getting out of their beds a little earlier in the evening.

The other thing people forget about is to try and be in your stand while the moon is over head or under foot during the rut. Even if that occurs during the middle of the day. Deer movement will likely be higher during those times which may including cruising bucks following or finding moving does.

Yes this...I look when moon is overhead and underfoot and I have noted more activity during those times than others...doesn't mean I don't go hunting on other days, but I may try a little harder to get out in the stand if all the factors line up...barometric pressure, temperature drops, cloud cover, moon overhead, etc.

I pay much more attention to the weather than moon phase.

Like others have said, I agree that moon phase and position play a part in how/when deer move, just like weather does. But unlike the fellow in the video...I would not plan my vacation around this product.

In my opinion the only thing that would even cause me to consider buying and using this product is the price. It's only $24...so if it doesn't work for you then well...you're only out 24 bucks. But to play devils advocate...it's something that is readily available and free to anyone with a quick google search.

Yup. The buck in my avatar was killed the morning after a full moon, and it was dead in the rut.
