I don't check this section of the forum and I'm sorry if this is a reoccurring question but I would like to know your favorite hunting boot.

I will say that I'm not interested in any that are higher than 10", full rubber or snake proof. For years, Irish Setters have been great to me and I'm leaning towards those again but would like to consider other options like Under Armor and some scent proof models. Thanks

The only rubber pair I have are Lacrosse Alpha Burly 1500s. Love them for late season. Great traction in the snow and mud.

I don't really have that problem in NC but they have to be waterproof and insulted.

Cabela's also makes a decent boot. I have had my comfort trac boots for about a decade and they're still like new. I only wear them when I hunt so not sure if I wore them on a daily basis how they would last.

My last two pairs have been Danner Pronghorns and have really liked them.

I've had two pairs of Alpha Burly Pro boots. The first pair lasted 5 seasons. I use them for scouting, hanging stands and hunting.

It depends on what I am doing. Lacrosee Aeroheads, Danner Pronghorns, or Cabelas's Perfekt Hunters by Meindl.

I have Danner Prongs, Lacrosse, Sorels, Merrels, and Asolo Sasslongs. The Asolos are my favs right now for an all around boot. The Lacrosse only get used when super wet out, Sorels for heavy snow. The other three see the most use.

Great suggestions. I just finished looking at all of the boots suggested and I really like the Pronghorns. Best of all, they're within my price range - not much stuff listed on this forum is haha. Thanks again. I'm placing an order soon.

Lacrosse Aerohead Boots for me this year. I have the Lacrosse Alphaburlys that I hunt early season in.

Thanks but tall rubber boots are just too tall, heavy and uncomfortable for walking and stomping briers all day rabbit hunting.

I have a set of Cabela's Meindl Perfekt Hunters, and the Cabela's Meindl Ultralight Hunters.

The Perfekt Hunters are what I use anytime it's 40 degrees or below. If it's colder than mid 20's, I have a pair of Hotmocs I throw on over them and I'm good below zero and don't have to deal with heavy bulky boots.

The Ultralight Hunters I've only got about 10 miles on, I just bought them about a month ago. I love them, they are super light, waterproof, and very comfortable. I'll be using these to hunt in any weather that is over about 40 degrees, and I've used them on my last two trips to do work on my hunting properties.

In addition to the boots, I feel quality socks are just as important. I've gone to lightweight merino wool for even blazing hot days doing work in my Ultralights. My feet sweat less, they wick everything away, and they don't smell at the end of the day. I go with a heavy weight merino wool when it's colder. I've invested over the past two years or so into getting several pairs of Smartwool socks of both weights and they really are a much better sock. I wish I could have all the years back hunting with cotton or poly type socks with cold feet in heavy rubber boots.

This is so dependent to the type of hunting I am doing and where I am doing it....have about 10 pairs of boots total.

Makes sense, I have a pair of rubber Muck boots that I use for bow season, checking and moving cams, etc.. but I need a boot that is comfortable and light enough for walking yet warm enough for late season hunts. I think I'm going with the Pronghorns.

You are going to get a lot of mixed reviews on the later model Pronghorns since they moved production out of the US. I'd suggest you look at the reviews on Cabela's, tons of info there when comparing models. This is what pushed me towards the Perfekt Hunters, they have a nearly 5 star rating there with 300+ reviews. Mine are awesome boots.

Both of my pronghorns are the old style. I didn't even know that they changed them.

I've heard the same from everyone that had the US made Danners. I guess they moved them to China and changed them a bit and now they still have decent reviews, just not awesome reviews like before the move/redesign.
