Well I'll go ahead and start by giving a little intro.* My name is Kyle, I just graduated college, and I'm ready to start spending more time in the woods chasing whitetails.* In years past there wasn't any good public land around me, and my lease in south central Kansas was 3 hours away.* This property seemed to have deer around until after the crops where out, and then things were slow until the rut hit and the bucks started running the river looking for does. * Since last year I have moved to centralish Iowa.* As of now I'll be hitting public land hard.* It appears there is some good ground up here, and I'm sure there are good deer.* I'm going to do some scouting, talking to landowners, and whatever I can to find some good hunting spots. Season in KS opens Sept 15, and if I can plan it right, I'll hunt the 15-19 there hoping to get a buck before the beans come out.* Then it's waiting time for the Oct 1 Iowa opener.* I probably won't make it back to KS to hunt again until Thanksgiving time.* Here are some of the deer I had on camera in KS last year, although could never connect.
Hey everybody Jeffrey Jones here just saw that the teams are up an rollin and thought i'd waste no time an check in. Im so glad to be here for the third year as it is always alot of fun. So lets stay active share stories strategies tips and just encourage one another along the way. Im looking forward to the Oct 1 open here in Oklahoma. Im an Okie from muskogee with my heart set on bowhunting its more of a lifestyle choice than anything to me an a recreation that im so passionate about. I been bowhunting now for 5 years and had some ups and downs and hoping to have some ups this year. I've got 2 good spots lined out with stands hung an ready my first spot is the food plot where I hunt and the second is "The Ridge" its a new location for me so im praying something good comes out of it with plenty doe already using the area im sure a good buck will be coming soon so im hopeful of that. I also want to welcome all of you that are new to the contest as it will be tons of fun if we make it that way so as I said before lets stay active an most of all safe this year I went out this weekend and set up life lines on my stand and I definitely will be utilizing them as I hope you all are with harness at the ready. May God bless this team with success and a very fruitful season.
Any suggestions for our team name? Moderater etc Here are some of my team name thoughts. 1. Big Buck Chasers 2. One Shot n Crash Crew 3. Fair Chase Boyz 4. High Tine Hitters 5. Rack Attack
Checking in guys from Ohio. Hoping for a great season but we will see. I am really behind this year in getting ready for the season.
Keep brainstorming team names! Over the weekend I was at some family's farm. They don't have much land but there is a ton of public hunting and a state park that doesn't get much pressure surrounded by an oxbow. Looked real promising, but that is 3-3.5 hours. They have a state forest that has thick timber, food, water, and the most insane hills and terrain I have seen. 12000 acres! That'll be a good weekend spot. I think this week I'm going to try to explore some close by public ground. I have a few spots in mind. Also have some calls out to farmers in hopes they'll help me find somewhere.
Close on some good spots we have plenty of time before the opener but your knocking on the door fast bud. Sept 15 right?
Sept 15 in Kansas. Have an old lease there that'll produce until the crops come out then their home until the rut. Have until Oct 1 in Iowa which is where 90%+ of my hunting will be this year.
1 September can't get here fast enough. Got a few big bruisers on cam and I'm ready to put a few down. I'll be hunting in Delaware and PA this year! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Checkin in from wi. Ive got 3 shooters so far over 150 10-15 nonshooter bucks in the 120-130 range. Should be a good year. season opens sept 12
Checking in. Hunt mostly in the bow only counties of WV. Also have property in KY that I hunt. Have stands already positioned but need to move a few more to get completely done. Have some monsters roaming around and actually have been seeing a big 180ish 24 inch wide giant that I would love to get down on the ground. Looking forward to this year and getting some blood on some arrows. Being named in team number 1 should be appropriate as that is how we should finish the competition. Good luck to all. "Deer"lerious Team but I like Rack Attack.
