At Deer Fest I took at look at these small Gear Head bows. They have about a 22" ATA. My first thought was that they would be very hard to shoot and unforgiving with that small of an ATA. I was mostly wrong. The bow felt a little weird but it felt pretty good and I was able to shoot it accurately. Be curious if their is an market for these. They are pretty pricey though around $1200.

    Thoughts, opinions?

I would think a short bow like that might work good for Bowfishing.

It looks like a revamp of the liberty 1 bow.

If you have a longer draw length you either have to have a very large d-loop or an extended release in order to shoot this thing (I checked this out at the Madison show). I think these are neat novelty bows but in my opinion if you are a serious bow hunter this would not be your first choice for a bow. At $1,200.00 you can buy just about any other company's flagship bow.

$1200 toy, like said above you could buy a much higher performing bow.

It looks like a copy of the liberty but better looking and more expensive. The local bow shop I go to had two liberty bows and they didn't try to sell anymore after that. I don't see how bows like that could be any good in the woods. Just by looking at it it doesn't look like you'd be able to hold a group past 20-25 yards and it looks slow and unstable with a short ata. Only people I could see buying these are people with extra money to spend on a novelty hunting bow to hang on the wall or bowfishermen that would spend a ridiculous amount of money for a bowfishing bow. Just my 2 cents.

Good luck keeping a peep in and accurate with a long draw length and a super short bow.

What do you mean higher performing? The speed is close to all the other bows.

Look, I'm not planning on buying one of these anytime soon but I'm not sure where some of the comments in this thread are based off.

320 fps is not close to todays flagship bow speeds. Speed sells.

If this bow shoots and performs well, I don't see why it would be seen as a novelty. Seems to me it could be pretty useful in situations like using in a ground blind or packing in a long ways through a lot of brush.

Its only 10FPS off. And a heck of a lot more compact.

    Ding Ding Ding...............

FTR, I had all the same concerns most of you had. Never thought it would shoot as well as it did.

Not sure what you shoot but it is more than 10FPS off. I guess I am not extreme enough in my hunting to warrant considering buying one.

Let me guess. You are one of these PSE guys with the 360 FPS or whatever they are.

Most non speed bows are around 330 these days.

No I said "just by looking at it". I never have shot it and don't plan on it. To me it looks like a waste of money for someone who wants a real hunting bow. I wouldn't clasify as a hunting bow just because of the Ata. To me it doesn't look like a good shooting bow past 25 yards. Recently with everyone going for the longer Ata bows for more stability, it doesn't look like this would do good. I think the extremely short bow phase has ended a long time ago pretty much ending with the z7 extreme. After that I haven't seen many people buy short bows. Just my opinion.

Well people looking at speed don't care how much faster just that it faster then the last one they were looking at.

Nope not a PSE guy. Now I have a question for you. Why ask for peoples thoughts and opinions then question why they could possibly disagree?

I shoot a 35" ATA because I like the longer bows too. What I am trying to convey here is don't be so closed minded and shoot one. I didn't like the idea either until I shot one.

People looking for a speed bow won't be in the market for one of these from the beginning.
