Ok, we're officially opening the contest up for submissions for the month of August (read all of the rules and information here).

We will leave this thread open until August 22nd at midnight.

Going forward, you are eligible to win ONE monthly contest PER YEAR. You are welcome to continue to submit pictures, but you will not be chosen in the final 10 of each month after winning your first contest. You will still be eligible for the annual drawing during that calendar year, however.


August. Let's be honest. For most of us, from now until the end of the year (and even longer for some of us), we're focused on one thing: antlers. It's what drives us. It pushes us through the early morning rises, the cold late season weather, the early season bugs and heat, and even the questionable looks from our significant other :D

On that note, this month's theme is non-velvet bucks. Let's see your best buck pictures as most of us will see them from stand. Let's get the blood pumping for the upcoming season!

I feel so left out on these... I just don't get the big buck pics like youz guys. So, what the heck?? LOL.


Throw back Wednesday. This picture is from 2004. It's cropped and I don't know where the original picture is or if it even still exists. This is from a Camtrakker. 35 mm film. 400 speed. heh. It's a picture of a picture too.... I took a picture of the print with with a new fangled digital camera that boasted 1.3 MP. That was high tech baby.



Oh, and I missed this buck at ten yards because I suck (and because I knocked my arrow off of my huntmaster 2000 rest when drawing my bow (XI Demon), -with fingers- and didn't notice because I was too focused on my awesome painted brass cobra pins... hahahhaahaha...)

Cousin missed him opening day of gun season. Never saw him again after Thanksgiving.

 

Wish I could of watched this guy grow up.
