So it's illegal for a photographer or a cake baker to refuse to participate in a gay wedding, but the airlines can choose what legal cargo they no longer want to transport based on their "moral views".

Personally, I don't particularly have a problem with gay weddings and I never been a big fan of safari hunting, but the hypocrisy and inconsistency of the "political correct" is very troubling.

Personally, I'd take a boat before I'd give them one thin damn dime.

This is a silly PR stunt. I'm pretty sure big game hunter's aren't bringing their lion heads on the plane with them. Most likely being shipped via other methods I would think

Spot on and fitting comparison. Both businesses are refusing to offer their service based on their own personal (they call it moral) objections. The bakers refuse to service the customer based on their views and now so are the airlines. I dont fly Delta any more but not because of this uber liberal wussification stance but because their name stands for
    Doesnt
    Even
    Leave
    The
    Airport

Well no, its not a fitting comparison at all actually

One is saying "I will offer this service to that person, but not to you"

The other is saying "I will not offer this service to anyone"

FTR, I'm for the Baker having the right to refuse service, but the comparisons are weak

I guess you are not seeing it Delta is telling hunters that they can not transport the trophy while other Delta passengers can ship back goods on the flight.

No. you are wrong. It is a spot on and one-to-one comparison. The baker is saying I refuse service you because of your lifestyle and choices you make as a gay and the airlines are saying I refuse service you because of your lifestyle and choices you make as a hunter of specific species. The baker will serve straight folks, just not gays. The airlines will service hunters of certain species just not ones that kill today's fad animals based on "in-fashion" news of the day. It couldn't be more obvious and clear. The airlines are refusing to service a certain segment of the population based on arbitrary and emotional stances on how those people live their lives.

No. They are not just telling hunters that they can't. They are saying they will not ship certain items. Which I'm sure they already have plenty of policies in place where they would not ship certain items. This is no different.

    Right

Wrong. They are simply refusing to ship certain items.

The airline will ship certain species, and not others. It has nothing to do with the hunter.

Its a poor comparison. That is just fact.

Their decision was most certainly based off a knee jerk reaction and a PR move.

    We are splitting hairs.....
The airline is saying I will haul any legal cargo EXCEPT for big game trophies because we have caved into political pressure.

American doesn't even serve S Afrrica and publicly admitted the move in their policy is merely a symbolic gesture.

If Delta is going to refuse transport of big game trophies due to recent events what's going to stop them in the future from refusing all types of mounts, if these pro-conservation groups keep blowing up the media like they are it will be a reality.

I'm willing to bet there are other legal things that they will not haul

Oh yeah, it was definitely done because of political pressure, no argument there

Seems to me all this creates is an opportunity for someone to step in and fill this void.

    You know...free market and all.

No. You are again mistaken. But I support your right to continue to be mistaken

    This part you got correct.

    Absolutely.
Just wish that same mindset was applied consistently.

But having said that, it is a slippery slope. While I support the right of the baker and photographer to not participate in a gay wedding, how about the restaurant that refuses to host the rehearsal dinner?
