So I just finished up my take on the Redneck Bale Blind. It took me a few weeks to complete but that was because I was waiting on supplies to come in. I don't have any pictures from the building process because my phones sd card decided to act up. The blinds dimensions are 48" x 72" x 70". The base is a 2x4 frame covered in 1/2" plywood. I made a frame of 2x4's that is a "peak" type design with a 2x4 running the length of the blind for structural purposes. The farmer had a roll of feedlot fence laying around and said I could use it. I used electrical staples and formed the roundness of the blind by stapling it to the base and top of the cross beam. After getting everything framed I bought a 6'x8' tarp and put it on top of the blind for water protection. I wrapped the blind in black bed sheets for darkness in the blind and then wrapped the blind in burlap to give it the blind look. I am planning to set it on top of a few round bales over a food plot and soybean field. All in all it probably cost me around $60 to make. Considering a Redneck is $700 I'd say it was worth it.
You could put some netting on there and put some hay in there to give more of a realistic look. Great looking blind though.
Nice job. Errosion control netting has the straw in it plus grass seed. A little rain and it will be a giant Chia pet. LOL.. could work at bringing the deer in real close though.
Not bad at all! I might need to undergo this project for the pregnant wife,, so she can still hunt with me. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
There is so much room in there. The old computer chair is nice because you can roll, swivel and and change height fairly quietly.
