This is 1 of 2 tables I am making out of a tree I cut down in my back yard. Thinking it needs something but not sure. Thought I would share

It was an ash tree. Have another tree that will be coming down next year also. Got to love the emerald borer ash beetle. Killed hundreds of trees by me already

Looks great! Is that the top or are you going to put a glass top on?

I'd epoxy coat the top. Looks pretty cool.

If you seal it do the top and the bottom otherwise it will crack as it dries.

Thank you. Yeah it was a drawing i traced onto a piece of wax paper and burned it into the wood. Im not very artistic so had to be traced. Lol. Im planning on putting poly over the entire thing since it will be outside year round. Its gonna get a lot of poly thats for sure. Im going to let it sit in the garage for a few months to get completely dried out first. I have another one that is a little bigger and has a knot coming off it from a branch that i had cut off years ago. This was kind of a test subject. It was a big tree so I have lots more i could do if need be.

Forgot. After I burned the outline in I took a MAPP gas torch and singed the body to give it the color. Took a few times of sanding it down and going back over it to get the shading the way I wanted it.
