I tried to post a video of some elk the camera took but I don't think it worked. I didn't put the cam on video. I have a picture of two guys and they messed with my cam. But the videos are cool. Here is a picture to make y'all feel better.
Awesome! I'm not brave enough enough to put my cams on half the waterholes around here. Too much people traffic. I did find a nice fairy remote waterhole yesterday but there was already a cam on it. The only waterhole cam I have out is a 30 mile atv ride from the house. Rough, rough trail. ...and still, somebody will probably find it. But if not, I should have 3000 moo cow pictures. lol The elk are pretty sparse on the Sanpitch right now.
Where we hunt its the sheep we contend with. We have hunted this wallow for years and ever so often people will come thru. If they have a big bull tag I will let them use the stand. but one of the boys has a big bull tag this year. The only thing that bugs me a little is they messed with the camera. When I come across cams I just smile and wave at it and go on. Thats the price of hunting public land.
I did my best goonie grin and waved at the cam. There were mud puppies in the waterhole and I really want to chase them around and catch some but I figured whoever put up the camera would not be amused. They also built a nice ground blind. My friend and I joked about hunting in it opening day. :D
Whats funny is this wallow is a rough hike in. I have another camera that is maybe a little longer walk but not rough and never see anyone there. I take my 6 and 7 year old grand daughters in with me sometimes to check cams. Thats how easy a walk it is or my grand daughters are just tougher then most hunters .
