Hi guys, I have some bush pigs on bait that I've been wanting to hunt with my bow, but the problem is being able to see my peep sight at night? Does anyone have any suggestions of how they make their peep sight visible?

Probably not, most folks on the forum are from the states and it's generally illegal to hunt anything here after dark.

Not true. Pigs are a big problem here and many states have 24-7 hunting on them.
A lot of sights have a small light that screws into the housing that will make the fiber optics glow. Maybe be time for some new toys.

Maybe not necessarily true but in most cases it is very true, which is why I included the word, "generally" in that post. How many folks on the forum shoot hogs at night with a bow? Probably a more common situation would be bowfishing at night.

You could forget the sight and get a laser?

Sounds like a good idea. On one TV show I saw some people using a greed led light. I'm not sure if they can see I or not.

Actually, as long as you draw and anchor to the same spot every time, you should have no problem seeing through the peep if you have a light on your pin. I shoot an HHA one pin with a light and have never had a problem seeing through my peep.

If you're have trouble with the peep, take it off....you don't really need it anyway.

Depends on the size of the peep. At night your eyes dilate and literally you may not be able to see through a very small peep. I.e. I have one bow with about a 3/32 peep and you'd be hard pressed to see through it.

I agree if you're meticulous with your anchoring you'll be closer though.

Really...? No, don't take your peep off, instead, maybe get a bigger housing or light up your pins like JeepWilly said. I know it doesn't sound like it will fix you not being able to see through your peep, but at least you will be able to see the outline

Fwiw-Night hunting is more common/legal in the South (raccoons, hogs, coyotes especially). Weapon allowed probably also varies.

Bowfishing and occasional night 3d shoots too, maybe cause it's cooler.

I believe NAP has a light that is half stabilizer. With a red or green light and a light for your pins your good to go Talon. Or better yet send my a airline ticket and i'll be right over. :D
