Anyone that thinks the media has given us all of the facts and exactly what happened is as crazy as the people who want the dentist dead for killing this lion.

This guy did nothing wrong other then hiring bad guides from what I heard. There is no reason for people to treat others so terrible.

People look at Lions differently, I think that's a big issue. Somehow we think they are special, kinda like people do with Wolves. I don't get it. This thing does look pretty shady, but I'm with Monster Raxx on this. I doubt we have all the correct information. If there is evidence to support the claims, then that changes everything, but I haven't seen any solid evidence.

I'll agree and say that we most likely don't have all the details. If the dentist did everything legally from his end then why does he need to be punished? The guides are the ones that need to pay the price for this one.

All I got to say is let the Pita witch go feed those hungry lions and see how purdy they are up close.

I get so sick of the lunatics that claim the killing any game that is legal to hunt is wrong-- no matter if it is an albino deer, a lion name Cecil, or a tiger named Tony!

If this guy got sucked into something by a guide maybe that's different. But I assure you he didn't pay 50K thinking he was doing something wrong!

Gawd! people need to take everything they read in the media as hype! CAUSE hype sells and the truth is usually BOOOOOOOOOOOORING!

I love how the media is claiming that they lured "Cecil" out of the preservation specifically, If only us hunters knew that secret here lol.

The guy paid for a hunt, and his guides screwed him over.

The issue this guy is going to have is that even if the guides get in trouble, which they are, the person that pulls the trigger historically has some responsibility. The level of severity may be different in the US, but in Zimbabwe and their national icon, if he's extradited, he's going to get screwed.

The guy deserves some fault for the simple fact that he and his guide tried to hide the fact that he shot a collared lion.

The guy has poached before, but I am waiting to get all the facts.

Second, once the lion wonders out of the park, he's fair game.

I cant seem to find a single picture of this lion collared or tagged, I just bring this up because a collar used for tracking is relatively thick in most cases.

Some non-hunters told me yesterday they heard he shot the lion 40 times:) That's a huge quiver he's carrying around.

Has anybody done an Africa hunt? What are the licensing requirements? The report is the land owner didn't have a Lion in his Quota. Does a hunter buy specific permits or are they bound under the land owners quota. I have a hard time excusing the hunter, It doesn't sound like they were out on a hunt and just happened up on a Lion. They were targeting for a Lion and he had responsibility to ensure doing so was legal.

I'll agree hiding that MAYBE it had a collar deserves being reprimanded for a poor decision-- but death JEEZ

The guy himself said the lion was collared. I don't know why he would lie.

The people wishing death upon are just jumping on the faux outrage bandwagon. Its just a classic case of groupthink. They don't really care. They just want to be part of the outrage.

I live here in MN and find it interesting all the people that have the time to protest this with so many other things broken in this state. Move on people. Is this a shame... Yes. Is it worth shutting down someone's private practice... No!
