I am an avid Twitter user and I have been seeing a lot of backlash and anger over the dentist who shot some lion named Cecil in Africa. I really don't know all the facts so I can't comment on the hunt but people seem to be going crazy over it and are sending this man death threats. My question to everyone here is do you think that hunting would ever become illegal in the United States?

Probably will at some point the way society is heading, if it doesn't collapse first...and it probably will. People need dirtier hands and cleaner minds, less knowledge and more sense and more time paying attention to what the hell they are doing and less paying attention to what everyone else is doing.

WHen the fit hits the shan, the survivors will definitely become hunter/gatherers one way or another.

It may be banned at some point, but good luck ever completely enforcing it. If that were the case, we wouldn't need game wardens. Who would be watching for hunters at that point?

I doubt it will be outright banned but I definantly think eventually it will become something you will only be able to do by paying hundreds or thousands of dollars. Kind of like the dentist did in Africa.

It still confuses me that these bat sh*t crazy people that spew their hate every chance they get, will say that person deserves to die, and most of the time it is in such a cruel way over a person killing an animal.

It "hunting" (some forms of it and some species) have already been banned in the US. More species and more methods of doing it will surely be banned and the remaining methods will be more restricted and regulated and hard to do forcing some to quit (soft form of banning) so yes, it has already been and will continue on that path so long a liberals and liberalism are allowed to grow unchecked. The greatest danger to this nation is the caner that is liberalism. This xgun shooting dentist only helps the liberals by providing them the ammo they need.

It is stories like this that will fuel the fire for the antihunting movement. It really sucks because what this idiot does is so far removed from what average hunters do that it is tough to even put it in the same catagory. I have been In rooms with jerks like this. Rich white, arrogant pricks that pay large amounts of money to kill something with very little of their own effort or skill applied. I hate it. It makes all hunters look bad because it draws the headline. The fact that SCI allows animals that were killed in hunts that were not fair chase hunts to be entered into their record books is part of the problem. 100% fair chase 100% of the time should be the standard all hunters live by.

I find it truly amazing at how far removed from reality these Anti-hunting whacko's are. They will happily walk into McDonald's and order a quarter pounder and eat it without even the faintest thought given to where that meat comes from. Or even crazier are the Anti-meat eaters that eat their tofu and grass. Humans didn't get to where we are today by being vegans. We got to here by being predators. Why on earth do these people think we need to change.

Nope. Anti-hunters compose a very small part of the population.

Just look across the pond at the older countries for your answer, that where we're headed.

I put all animals in the same category. Lions, cows, dolphins, sea trout, deer, rats etc. Why is it ok the kill/eat one and not the other? How about all the poor hens that get their fresh eggs stolen each morning for our omelette's? Where's the outrage for them? :)

There will never be a law that says no hunting, but there could be laws that indirectly affect the future of hunting.

Which some have been passed already and some are being proposed.
