Lots of big boys showing up now folks, exciting year. The buck I named Crossbow from last year has also shown himself this year and he also exploded...and he was a legit beast last year. I've been debating whether or not to show him online or not. He's got a drop tine and a split G3 and also an ear guard (which may or may not have busted off, can't tell yet).

Who all admits to not showing their big deer? I always have and I'm chomping at the bit to join in on sharing this one, showing off a little too but I'm more weary of jinxing my season chasing him this year than last year. Looks like there are quite a few monsters running around out there this year. My other top buck from last year, I've not seen yet and he was also a monster last year, if he's exploded like the others, he may be laying somewhere starving to death as we speak because he can't lift his head,.

Not me Covey-- I am way past thinking that a picture will jinx me.. Heck I do enough stupid crap to create my own bad luck in the woods.. hence the name Bone Head!

I know a lot of guys are just afraid to show what they got for fear of someone trying to pinch the buck before they get a crack at it... I have never seen of heard of that ever happening with strangers. Now someone you know might be a different story.

Com'on show us those bad boys!

I never really worried too much about showing deer from where I hunt. Some of the concerns heard people say for not showing don't think I'd ever have a problem with. Meaning nobody is gonna come in and take the land I hunt and we really don't have problems with poachers. As far as jinxing myself I think I probably do other stuff that prevents me from killing a big mature buck besides just showing a picture ha.

Yeah I always thought the tale about jinxing taking a buck by posting pics was BS as well but after this buck disappeared on me last year, I'm rethinking things. Also I posted pics of OMG year before last and had bad luck with that whole mess.

I love seeing the big deer posted, I hate to contribute to a hokey belief and scare folks off from posting the big ones but I'm not sure I'm willing to take any chances with this one this year. I'm not sure how big he really is going to end up anyway but I know he's on par with the OMG buck from 2013, at least. He outsmarted me last year, I need all the luck I can muster, lol.

I'm not concerned with anyone here finding him and squeezing in, I'm just starting to give in to the superstition part of it for this particular deer. He's not that big of a monster anyway but he's fairly impressive. I'm not absolutely convinced yet that the buck this year is indeed this same buck but I'm like 80% sure. He's changed so much from last year but he's running with the same nice eight pointer, is the right age and has just enough of the same features from last year to make me pretty sure it's the same deer.

Still have not decided whether or not to show him this year but here he is last year:

If you hunt public and you have your location listed on your profile be ready for someone to send you a picture of the same buck your after. I have seen it happen.

I can believe that.. But I hunt private ground in 5 different counties in my state... So its not likely that I will ever have to worry about it.

I don't share them publicly. Has nothing to do with being jinxed or luck, but I've had problems in the past with people reading my stuff online and then running into trespassing issues.

I will share with select groups of friends though. I just ask them not to pass them around when I do.

I can understand that. I have not seen that issue in my case. Maybe I have just been lucky.

Yeah, kind of the same here, I hunt three different counties in two states and a lot of it isn't even listed as mine. There are so many acres of old coal dumps here and brush that they'd basically have to hire a private eye to find my hunting spots.

I don't show them because I don't want to encourage out of state hunters. :)

No one has the grit to find the bucks around me, they're more than 100yards off a road. :tu:

Does that mean you don't have the grit since you haven't shot a buck lately?
