What's every ones take on whisker biscuits a lot of my friends tell me to go with a drop away but to me being new to archery I feel that the whisker biscuit is simpler.

I shoot Blazers with a lot of helical and the time I tried the WB it was hard on my vanes because I shoot a lot. I love my QAD HDX and doubt I will ever use a different rest unless they stop making them :) .

Honestly if you have the money, I would definitely pull the trigger on a QAD HDX. best rest on the market in my opinion. Its really not that complicated, but I would highly recommend a pro shop set it up on your bow. Only because they function flawlessly if they are set up right. Ive used an QAD HDX for a couple years now, and its very quiet, and consistent.

Drop aways are great when the work it's when they don't that's when you will wish for a WB. If am packing in, flying in or just generally in a place that a repair can't take place then suck it up and put a WB on as my go to rest. Otherwise I use drop aways, most limb driven

I think drop aways are more forgiving to arrow flight after release. I would go with any of the QAD rests. while I have the HDX on my primary hunting bow, I also have there lesser priced model that runs about 60 bucks on two other bows and they work great as well.

As far as a WB or Drop Away, it only comes down to what "you" want.
I know that sounds weird, but it's that simple.

Stay away from whisker biscuits. the whiskers gets tangled together and will cause bad shots, and the Mess up the vanes of you arrows pretty quick! you will save money in the long run with a drop away.. I Use a Ripcord Ace Micro! Its a great arrow rest. and not a bank breaker.

I have and have shot both. My preference on a "speed bow" or a short ATA bow is a drop away. Unless you have a perfect form (which I don't!), the drop away will give more consistent and forgiving with arrow flight.

You can't argue the simplicity of the WB that's for sure. I do have one in my bow box to take with on out-of-town hunting trips in-case something bad happens to the drop away.

The WB is the end of my looking for the perfect arrow rest for a hunting bow!

WB is especially bad in freezing temperatures. There's no way to warm up and thaw out whiskers. They stay pretty stiff and will deflect your arrow. Drop aways you can physically move to keep from icing up and oil or wax them.

Drop away, without question. I've owned 3 in the last 6-7 years (2 QADs and currently an Apache) and have NEVER had a single malfunction. No loss of speed/velocity and superior accuracy; it's that simple.

Both rests have their place in archery. I primarily use a biscuit when hunting and 3-D,drop away when I'm shooting spots.

Yeah, in freezing weather/rain/snow, a WB will get waterlogged and then really freeze up. Plus I'm not a huge fan of my fletchings hitting something on every shot.

Tangled whiskers? They are straight bristles, not curly bristles.

Ran over 1200 to 1500 arrows through mine. No fletchings have come off an arrow yet.
Frozen bristles, just un-nock the arrow and run it through the biscuit, then nock it on again.

Most people bashing the WB I bet haven't even tried it. I think people get brainwashed into thinking you must get the latest and greatest or you will not kill a deer. I shot many rest and took off a Smackdown Pro for the WB. I love the WB. No matter what you are told...a drop away can and has failed. I've had issues with them . I like simple and the WB fits the bill.

I've seen misinformation about the WB here and elsewhere. I'll tell you they are a fine rest and they work and tune great. Sure drop aways are very nice as well but they too have issues. Its only money...try them both and see.

Well said. It was like I mentioned. It only comes down to what you choose to use.
Never had a con with my biscuit, never had a drop away fail.
But at 45 yards and in, a miss is my fault only...
I personally practice out to 60 yards, love WB enough to have them on both my bows.

I am not a WB hater, as I said I have shot them. We actually have one on my wife's bow. Mine always seemed hard on my vanes but I do use a lot of helical and tall Blazer vanes, maybe that is why. They never ripped off but the edges got worn and required replacement. I just really prefer my QAD. If we all liked the same things, archery would be pretty boring :) .

whisker biscuit was always tough on my fletchings. I shoot alot. If you can afford it go with a QAD drop away
