Started this several days ago and will update with progress. The old deck was steel and expanded metal. It was heavy and hard to remove. It has found a new home. New frame and hand rail fabrication. Will be doing inner support structure, and a step in next couple days Just ordered the deck sheeting, will pick it up monday, more pics as I progress
Nice! I was always intimidated by the thought of welding aluminum, until I had to fix up my old grain trailer. It wasn't nearly as big a deal as I thought it would be. Looks like you're doing a great job!
Looks great. What material are you planning for the deck? Something punched or perforated I'd think...
Thanks guys! Im using 14 ga alumin sheet. my bud used it on his and its solid with proper bracing. will use rubber mat on top of it for all night comfort
Cutting and fitting Mi have just a small amount of welding left then I can add deck sheeting really happy how it's going, it's way lighter than the steel deck
Step and handrail for the old folk Aluminum arrow holder, thin wall very light Made a removable trolling mount as we. Have two trollers, one a transom mount, other mounts to the deck plate
Started cutting and fitting decking after work today, only worked for an hour. First piece cut and laid in, not attached yet!
Thanks bud, I'm pretty excited about how it's going, it is so much lighter. Once I get the deck done and rubber matt down all that's left is new lights, likely LED
