About a month ago I bought all new sitka gear for deer season and now I noticed that under armour came out with new gear that I really like but I just got sitka gear that I could sell to a friend but I would be taking about a $400 loss I'm still debating so I was wondering what you would do If you jumped the gun on gear and wanting Different gear.

Same here, but I also get my camo from the sales rack so I guess neither.

As long as you got the pee smell out I would keep the Sitka :). I have all UA gear and I like it, but if I already had Sitka I would not change. The new UA is nice with wind/water proofing that they never really had before. But I doubt I would take a loss just to try it.

I can't imagine any camo I would lose $400 first just to buy it.

Me too and I bet it works just as well as Sitka or UA.

I think UA makes nice base layers that I would say are almost as nice as sitkas. However sitkas insulating layers and shells are beyond what UA is offering.

It is up to you to decide what is best for your hunting situations.

However, I cannot even understand the thought of losing money on new Sitka gear to buy something else.

NO Under Armor for me. They paid $200+ million to a basketball player to wear their stuff and get some pictures. Then they want ME to pay $80 for one shirt. No thanks.

Keep what you got, the deer don't mind what you look like in the stand. I have old camo that works for me and don't plan on upgrading anytime soon. Some call it cheap, haha o well. It works

Until you wear Sitka gear on a cold and windy November day, you really don't know how much better it is.

I love UA and wear some of the clothing, but I've given up on their hunting line. Sitka is the top dog right now. There's no way I'd be taking a $400 loss to go to an inferior clothing line.

Now it gets me thinking that I should buy some insulated sitka gear for the late season...

I have used the Kelvin pants and vest the last few years under my shell when it gets cold. They are great.

I went by BPS last weekend and noticed a new line of UA camo that looked a lot like Sitka's camo pattern. Maybe the new "Ridge Reaper" line I see now? But the fabric felt like a fake wool type that seemed like it could be snaggy.

Hey Girls and boys, I know its the way of the world but I read all the labels on the sitka gear at my local Cabelas and I just can't bring myself to spend 400 to 700 bucks on Chinese made clothes, especially when they will be old news next yr. and half the cost. I'll give you the formula to become a billionaire no charge. AMERICAN MADE HIGH QUALITY ANYTHING.

I would keep it, because Ive heard nothing but good things about sitka. My only question with them is, do people actually wear the pixel camo in the midwest? It works fine? let me know what you guys think of the pattern.

I have no Sitka clothing but my bow has the Sitka optifade camo. I think it does a great job or breaking up outlines.

Here's some pictures of my bow. I have the open country camo (more tan and brown) and it does a good job breaking up the outline even in lush green when seen through a more muted tone that deer see in. [IMG]

Obviously that picture isn't a great representation of a deers eyesight but it's certainly close.
