2 120ish size bucks having a good sparring match there were 13 bucks feeding in a soybean field and was glassing them when 1 buck started stiff-legging it towards another buck. even had his ears pinned back. i thought maybe a good old fashioned hoof beating was coming so i watched and then the other buck put his head down and they met head on. lasted about 30 seconds and they had a good fight going on. can't imagine how they could do that this time of year without damaging antlers?? gosh, i hope with such an early antler growth year, they are'nt done growing already
That's super weird. I always thought their antlers were super sensitive with velvet. Very interesting. Sent from my SM-G900R4 using Tapatalk
Very very strange, even with racks done growing with velvet on it is very weird for them to be locked and fighting now. The buck trying to display dominance is normal but for them to actually lock is weird.
I know just was a nice pic to go along with this thread. can't see it in my pic but the ground has also been pawed. I believe it is a community scrape cause I have several bucks and does on it.
A friend of mine got a buck in velvet and one that had just shed its velvet on camera fighting last year. I wonder if maybe they do this to help remove velvet? Not really time for that yet but just a thought.
