Im looking for a good pair of hunting boots that are light weight that are good for early and late hunting season. Whats everyones recommendations?
If you prefer rubber boots I'm partial to lacrosse and for a tough regular type boot can't beat Danner's. The insulation is your call everyone prefers different grams for different environments.
early season I would get some Keen hikers. late depends on your area you live in? I have to wear a good set of pack boots or i'll freeze after the 3rd or 4th hour.
After my first time hunting in Illinois, in 2014, I went back to the Lacrosse pack Boots. If I get cold, my hunt is over for the day. Good luck on your choice and let us know what you choose...
I've work Under Armor, Bushnell, Danner, and La Crosse in the past few years and have been pleased equally with each set.
I have pair of the Cabela's Meindl Perfect Hunters with 400gr of thinsulate that I wear for almost everything below 50 degrees. When it's cold I pack in Hotmocs with hand warmers and I'm good down to below zero. For when it's warmer I just picked up a pair of uninsulated Cabela's Meindl Ultralight Hunters. I've only worn them around the house but so far they fit very well, I'm looking forward to putting some miles on them here in a couple weeks when I get back to the lease.
Man, I have a pair of Rocky boots that I absolutely love...... I have Sasquatch feet (ok, maybe bigger) and these work like a champ. Can't remember the exact model.... But 600 gram insulated
I've been using Kamik boots at work for years. They are made in Canada and come with removable liners so you can use them without during the warmer months. They are also water proof and most models cinch closed at the top. I also find that they are cheaper than most other brands. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I only wear MUCK boots! Love them! My buddy wears BOGGS and he says there a good boot as well, they also offer a lifetime warranty!
Not sure what I am going to do early season. I typically just used my steel toe construction boots but those are worn out with holes in them. Don't know if I want to buy something more for hunting. I have a pair of Irish Setter Ridge Toppers 800g that I use when it gets cold.
