Any body try one of these. Tired of buying hand warmers. Tried those gel pads with the metal disc last year and never could get them to reset to reuse. The first use was awesome though, 130 degrees in my pockets. but only lasted 30 min.
I read the package on Zippo's and it says it'll last up to 12 hrs. Just wondering if that was true, how hot they get, and also is there any smell to them. Thanks

Nobody. I'll get one and try it out. See how it works and post back. Sorry if this is in the wrong place.

My cousin uses them and seems to like them. He's been using them for multiple years so I assume they work.

I have not tried them. My Dad and Grandfather used the older versions --and they did smell like lighter fluid.

Thats what I'm afraid of. I googled it and watched a couple videos. And several people mentioned the smell.
I love the idea of 12 hrs of steady heat but not the smell. Then again i can smell the thermocells when they're cooking and deer don't seem to mind. IDK. Maybe get some activated carbon and put it in the bag with the hand warmer to soak it up. Any thoughts.
I guess some testing is in order. Thanks all.

My opinion only, but if the deer can smell the lighter fluid he can also smell you.
