3pt Tiller Recommendations - 14hp kubota

Does anyone have recommendations for a 3pt tiller for a 14 hp kubota b6100? I think its 12hp PTO and kind of think i need no bigger than a 40'' or 42'' tiller. Anyone know of a good one that can take a beating but small enough for this tractor to handle? I need to buy one quickly, so hoping i can find one locally here in wisconsin.

 

I should add, i was going to get a king kutter flip over atv disc for half the cost, but really like tillers and am thinking i should just spend the money. Maybe someone will sway me to go to the disc route?

 

get a king kutter atv disc and get a nice cheap drag harrow from the tractor auction. that will help alot more than the tille especially when grasses are tall in the field

That's the brand I was going to go with. Seems like they're the only ones that make a tiller compatible w/ a 12 hp PTO tractor.

 

Get a disc. You don't need a tiller.

 

12HP isn't a lot to drive a tiller. You will use your power more efficiently pulling a disc and let it's weight do the work

 

Honestly, I tend to agree with the others. 12hp at the PTO is borderline for tilling up any kind of virgin ground. It might do alright after the field has been disked, but then your talking about needing two implements to do the job. My Bobcat CT230 has 22hp to the tiller. I run a 5' tiller and it does a great job on virgin ground as long as there's not any real moisture in it. If the soil is holding moisture, it will bog down pretty bad at times.

 

If you are trying to work sod I wouldn't use a tiller. We have 24hp JD with front wheel assist and a 647 JD tiller and we won't even till sod anymore. Way too hard on the tiller.

I'm torn. We always used a tiller, it broke a few weeks ago.... it was a kubota b422 42" tiller made for this model. I'm afraid if I get a flip over disk (king kutter atv disk) but I'm afraid that pulling that with a hydrostatic transmission is going to wreck the trani at some point. I just love how nice a job the tiller does. Any other thoughts? Need to make a decision in the next 2 days

 

Do you think the traniskus sion would be fine pulling that disk? Kubota b6100hstd

 

Ended up buying a Landpride RTA 42'' tiller. Put in 5 small food plot totaling about 1.5 aces and this tiller was a BEAST. Stopped the tiller dead in its tracks from rocks/stops about 5 times without any damage whatsoever to the equipment. Our tractor also handled the tiller just fine. I'M STOKED

 

followed up tilling by dragging a chainlink fence with 2 old atv tires w/ rims ontop. Did a spectacular job leveling and busting up the clods
