At one of the places I hunt I like the morning at my friends grandmother's I like morning or right before it gets dark. And the why is because that's when I see the most deer movement.

Whenever the weather is cool, mostly mornings day and mind are fresh, 30's, usually mid November (no bugs, rut) crunchy everything on the forest floor (few leaves = good visibility, hear deer coming from a ways off if not too windy). Hunting in Minnesota so I know the real cold isn't too far off.

    Hunting north central WI.

Early season pre rut I like mornings and evenings.

    Rut I like 10:00 am - 2:00 pm if I can't sit all day.

Late season I like late afternoons near a food source of some type.

I like hunting mornings the best. I've had better luck seeing big deer in the mornings than the evenings. I hunt most of the time when the rut is in. I like to hunt main doe trails fairly close to where the does bed in the mornings. Any type of terrain feature like a funnel or a trail intersection that is near where the does bed, that the does will travel through to get back to bed in the morning is a great morning spot during the rut.

I hunt in RI, CT, and Illlinois. Early season it's afternoons only, during the rut it's all day. Love the sunrise in the woods

From Indiana. I love the fall mornings when the temp is right near freezing and there is no wind. Those are the days I live for.

I always see more deer at evening, but the 2 bucks I shot last year were both in the morning! 8:30 and 7:30 am , but like I sais, the late afternoon, evenings, I always see a lot more deer, bucks and does, Go figure~~~ Long Island, Suffolk County.

best times are a couple hours before and after dark but what a lot of people don't hunt is in mid day. try to find what there mid day pattern is. deer need to feed about every 4 hours. so they get up for a little bit. so if you can get close to a bedding area you might just catch getting up for a mid day snack.

I can't give a general answer to that question. It depends on many factors such as the location I'm hunting, time of season, weather, moon phase

When ever I can. Nothing beats being in the woods. Everybody has their own opinion on best times. If you go out mostly A.M./P.M. Then that's when you'll see more deer. And it all depends on your setup where you hunt. Truth is if you're not out there you won't see em.

Depends on where I'm at....my house, morning and evening. My lease, evenings seem to see more.

Definitely evening in the midwest, you usually can catch even nocturnal deer coming out with light left

If the alternative is work, then anytime of the day is great for hunting. :)

Mornings in the rut because the rut hunting is the best obviously, but i love the serenity of the mornings. I love to watch the sun come up, and the world wake up. To me thats the best time to be alive. I believe the hunting is generally better in the evening, but the mornings are one of my favorite parts of hunting. There's just something about watching the dark turn into light that is just breathtaking. Great thread my friend!

At home in Tennessee I see deer from sunup-10 and from 4-dark. Where I hunt in Maryland though I rarely see deer in the morning. During the chasing/seeking phase of the rut I hunt all day.
