What is the best place to hunt?

    I've got a bunch of land that I can hunt, it has corn fields, hay fields,and oak woods what is the best place to hunt in this for the rut? Prerut? late season?Id like some input as this is my first year bow hunting.

    Find where the deer are entering and exiting the fields. Find oak trees to hunt during the early season. A good place to start are inside the woods at the corners of the fields as well. I have little experience hunting corn fields but if they don't seem to be coming out then go and stalk the corn rows. Look for deer sign, hunt all of it, you have to be able to watch and see what the deer are doing to learn the area and above all else hunt the wind. Happy hunting!

    Pinch points between bedding and corn/acorns in the early season, near scrapes and rubs during the pre-rut, near bedding and trail intersections during the rut, and back to the food during the late season.

    With a new property I feel the biggest key to success is identifying bedding, then how deer travel relates to that bedding and how your entry and exit can not effect the bedding. After that it all comes together.
