Are these the ones that are replaceable at half price if they get stolen? Let me know where you place it and we'll test their warranty.
I have been silent as I am sure the company is going to go through some growing pains and I am trying to give them a chance. My initial soak was about 400 images. Night pics are excellent. Day pics are a little less then be desired. They are a little washed out. Like the brightest is to high and the contrast is to low. It is also evident that they need to make some other tweaks to the firmware. Such as the temp being off by 25F+. The battery level indicator being off as well. At least I hope it is. New set of batteries reported a capacity of 94% and at the end of the first soak it reported 56%. I sure hope that is inaccurate or there is much bigger problems. I will say I tried their support and was unsuccessful reaching someone the first time. You text them to call you and they advertise they will typically get back to you within minutes. I requested a call back 2 days ago and haven't heard back from them. I made some changes. I am going to pull the card in the next couple days and see what they look like.
I was hoping to hear something different but honestly I am not surprised. The camera and packaging look awesome, but if you are going to break in as a new camera company with a camera over $200 the prettiest thing better be the pictures. There are a number of big name companies now with cameras that are taking damn good pics. Stealth has really stepped up, Browning and Moultrie have been good for a while. I really like a couple of the Covert models but they have a couple that need work BAD. Their color pictures that I have seen (which I am expecting to be the best they have) I wouldn't have even saved to my computer. Good luck Heckler I hope you can get it working better for you.
Exodus's pics posted on here and other forums and facebook. I did not see one pic that made me stop and say DAMN that is an AWESOME pic!
I agree with you. At the same time I am tired of cameras failing and the Co. hiding behind their warranty policy. . Last batch of Coverts I bought had a failure rate of 50% in the first two seasons. The one calendar year warranty isn't worth a squat. This isn't anything new either. I have went through the same thing with about every camera manufacturer out there. So I am willing to gamble a bit on the new guys if they stand behind their 5 year warranty. It's either going to make or break them... That and I like the under dog! I will say that there are some other features that are attractive that other cameras don't have and I've had the least number of false positive pictures on this cam of any of my other cams that are currently in the field.
Jason I also agree with what you are saying and like I said before I hope it works out for you. The biggest problem I see though with the 5 year warranty is if they can't get better day time pics for that price they probably won't be around for 5 years.
