Anyone else looking at these? Half the size and water proof without the housing. Very tempting.... http://shop.gopro.com/hero4/hero4-session/CHDHS-101.html
I don't know that I'm all that excited about it. It's a stripped down GoPro, with it's only advantages being that it's half the size and that it's waterproof without a case. For the same price as the Silver. No LCD, and the battery is built in. That's my number one issue. Up to 2 hours record time, then you have to recharge. From my experience, it's never even close to the record time they spec out. I wish they had a longer battery life, or removable batteries so you can swap them in the field.
Hmmm. That may change my mind on this one. Since I primarily self video, I planned to use this one to mount on top of my main camera to make sure I get the shot in case the deer walks through the frame of my main camera when zoomed. The narrow view would have worked great, but the wide view is too wide. May go back to my original plan and get a Tactacam for this use.
That's what I was thinking about getting is the tactacam.... Just to correct myself and anyone looking to be fair, I went back and looked it says Ultra Wide and Med. Creeks!
I was just wondering if the interface is any easier. I've got the Hero3 black and its quirky as he!!. I'd love someone like Apple to make one. Don't think I'd buy another one till they made it a little more user friendly.
I use a Hero 3 Black now and have never had a problem with it. I think I'm just going to get another one to use as a second main camera, mounted on my "real" main camera, to get the unzoomed view of the kill. Again, in case the deer walks through the frame of my zoomed in main camera, I should capture everything this way. I'll use the other one as my hunter cam, mounted in the tree above me to get what I'm doing in the tree. An advantage to this is I can sync both of them to one single remote. The GoPro on my main camera will be set to narrow to get the unzoomed view without the fish eye look. The hunter cam GoPro will be set to med to get all of what I'm doing. Here's a good video to give you the three perspectives.
I want one but I can't justify it. I already have a HERO 3 black and a tactacam would be nice to have multiple cams on one remote. Also I need to compare the narrow view on GoPro to the Tactacam to see how they look together. Also I would rather save for a DLSR. Argh!
