With a day off tomorrow an some extra time under my belt I decided I should go out an scout a piece of property I been givin access to hunt. With so little opportunity outside of public land hunting an just havin a place to go period I feel fortunate. I will be hunting a semi Suburban spot that my boss gave me permission to hunt on a 20 acre mostly hard woods area behind her house which is also a part of well over a hundred acres that surrounds it which holds some great wildlife Iife im sure. This will be my first time stepping foot on it but she tells me that the deer are plentiful there, and she has been sharing stories about how they're hard on her garden an so forth. I drive trucks for her company so im frequently in the area an have eye witnessed some nice bucks using this area jumping across roads an so forth. Im really excited about this season an tomorrow will be a great opportunity for me to get the lay of the land and try an determine where these deer are traveling, feeding, bedding and etc. Im gonna try to find a good spot for a stand as well figured it be a good a time as any to do so. I probably want hang it yet but atleast try to get some since of where to set up shop. Here is a general idea of the property plus its surroundings. The hunting grounds will be between her house an the river. Just thought I would share as there has been many hunters here who have been in situation with new places to hunt just lookin for some advice on how to approach it. I have it in my head to just figure out where the property lines are etc then look for sign of deer in there trails tracks scrapes deer etc. So im excited for sure its go time an I've got a gud feelin about this season. Im dubbing this new location "The Ridge" [IMG][IMG] [IMG][IMG]

I ran a camera this weekend when I went out so I shud be having some good pics soon the camera is on a scrape line that I found but more pointed towards a row of oaks that look to produce. I will be going back out come august to pull that card an hang a stand put some mineral out an a salt block but for now im leaving it just like it is. Its a great spot with a creek an all an hard woods plus open trails man it looks promising. Im gonna keep this thread as live as possible fellas so good luck to you all this season get out an enjoy the outdoors.
