Why am I seeing so many of these? What's the scoop on them? I'm trying to buy a G20 and I keep seeing these on Ebay and other markets. Are these authentic cameras? Have any of you guys ever purchased one?

The cameras are the same but the warranty doesn't cover the USA. If something happens you have to send it back to Japan to be repaired.

I ended up getting a refurbished G20 from Canon. The 30 just doesn't fit the budget right now. The resale on these cameras are unbelievable really so I can always upgrade. I felt the 20 would make an excellent first camera for filming in the timber. Now I get to start piecing everything together!

I saw these too and I avoided them. I am going with the refurbished G30.

I couldn't fit $300-400 more for just the camera in my budget right now. That extra money helps a lot with accessories. That's a lot of money for 10x more zoom (which I would love to have the 20x) but I'm hunting in timber all the time. It has a slightly better sensor but the 20 and the 30 both have the same LUX rating (low light)

Yeah I agree. I showed the two to my wife and she said to go with the G30 for that price. I hunt timber a lot too, but I am going on some out of state hunts this year in KY, SC and hopefully Wisconsin. Post some videos when you make some with the G20.

    Will do!

FYI, Canon Charges sales tax on the refurbished ones. I wish the 30s was still the price they were during Father's Day. The 20 is plenty for me though

Where are you planning on hunting in Wisconsin Sam? I live in the southern part of the state and have a lot of connections.
