I tried to search to find a thread that talks about how you locate who owns certain land if there is not a house on the property or any buildings for that matter. If someone could link me to a thread that explains this or give me any info at all. Looking to get some permission from some people to hunt their land but so far no luck.
Most counties have online plot maps through your appraisers office. Search for "Some County Name, State" GIS.... E.G. Osage County, KS GIS
County GIS system. google - county name land records gis With a few clicks it will show you aerial photos of the entire county, property lines owner name/address.
Don't get discouraged if your told no 50 times. I have folks stop and ask me a lot. If myself and my best friend didn't hunt on my property I would let someone. I always let kids come on juvenile hunts each year. The first two to ask. Not sure where your looking, but its not real hard in my area to find a spot. Sent from my XT830C
Yeah I got some responses but they told me no so I am looking to some other property and gonna ask a couple other owners. I am south east Wisconsin.
Your going to find a lot of ground that is in family trust or in a corporate name are tuff to contact at times but all you can do is call around. My advise to you is get written permission and waiver forums saying you won't sue him if you get hurt, even insurance will ease the tension. be aware of a earful on some calls..just saying Good luck
Check for Land management status also. there is lots of land out there that is privately owned yet still open to the public because the owners are getting low property taxes. Legally they cannot keep you off, though it is still common courtesy to talk to them and ask for permission.
