    Hi Guys,

I don't really know where to post this thread so I thought it'd be best in the water cooler. It is hunting related but anyway here it goes. In the past 6 months or so I've been thinking about buying a new bow. When I mean thinking that mainly consists of reviewing videos, reading articles/reviews, and shooting one at the retailer. With that said that is usually as far as I get. However this week I found a pretty good deal on a bow that I would want. Now my girlfriend says I already have a bow and don't need another one. I agree with her that it's not something I need, but I want. She is taking a pretty spendy vacation to Europe that I know she doesn't need. But I respect her and support her on it. She says that a bow isn't the same as her dream vacation. Should I feel guilty if I get another bow or for even wanting one?

Is it your money? Will any bills suffer from you buying the bow?

It will be my money, and no bills will suffer. I actually am going to sell a used car that I don't use along with a moped/scooter that I don't use. I can afford it without selling the items but I thought it'd be like a trade.

then heck no, I wouldn't feel guilty. I mean, I understand her not understanding, and I assume you are hoping to safe for something like a house one day or whatever. But you also should be able to enjoy a few of your earned dollars here and there.

Yeah one of her arguments are, we have to save for our own house. And I get that, I really do. But it's like hunny you are spending probably 1500 or more on a vacation trip to Europe and I'm only gonna spend maybe 1200 total on a bow with the accessories, but I'll probably wait a little bit to purchase those. It'll be 800 for the bow for now. :tu:

If you would've said your wife instead of girlfriend I would tell you the same thing. Buy it. You both have hobbies and need to be able to be comfortable doing those hobbies. Your hobby is hunting and her is traveling? It's fair you both get to spend money on yourselves.

I like all of your opinions, I think I'm gonna get the bow. When she gets back from her trip I think she'll be surprised or mad. Either way I think it should be my decision. :tu:

If it results in a fight, better rethink that ring. ;)

I know what you mean Brian. And forgiveness is easier to ask for then permission.

Sell your current bow. Then you don't have any so then it's ok to buy the new one. Use her logic against her!

I have considered this, but I really like the bow I have and would rather have a backup bow or just two bows than to sell it. :tu: I don't think that makes any sense but I just like my current bow.
