I want to try a thumb release. I dont know anyone that has one. and i dont feel like dropping $200 to find out it isnt for me. what is the best bang for your buck thumb release. any advice?
Yup^^ Trufire used to make a 3 finger that was around $30. But I'm using a Hot Shot Vapor these days.
Funny, I was just exploring moving back to a thumb style release... Apparently my archery shop only believes in wrist strap type releases. Other then the 3 finger Stan they have on the shelf for $250 (cough). I used to shoot a Carter Big Kid 3D thumb release... Something is wrong with it as the set screw to adjust the sensitivity doesn't do anything and it has a hair trigger that is scary..... The second time I almost punch myself in the mouth with it I quit messing with it. I think I am going to order a Scott Nexus and give it a go....
I keep contemplating the idea of swapping my trufire hardcore for a Carter Chocolate Addiction.. really hesitant because I love my hard core.
Carter has the widest selection. Stan releases are pricey, but can be found used at a more comfortable price point.
I ordered a Tru Fire Edge 4. The price was right, and the reviews were great on amazon. so now i just have wait tell i get my bow back and try it out
I want to get one as well. Whats the difference between all of the finger sizes, which one works the best for hunting?
@doepatrol, happy Fourth of July sir. I tried both four and three finger thumb releases before settling on the Stan Quattro. The Stan's Quattro gives me a more even feel throughout my bows draw cycle.
With thumb releases you really get what you pay for. Spend a lot get a lot. Spend a little get a little. The only exception to that is the hotshot vapor. Only cheaper thumb release I like. The best are the stanislawaski, Carter, or Scott Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
