I'm looking into purchasing a wireless mic that will fit into a mini mic plug (Not XLR port). What is everyone using? I'd like to keep it under $200 but don't want to sacrifice too much quality.

I use a sony WCS999 it works well. However, I can not get more than 30 feet from the router.
I also threw the mic it came with away and went to best buy and bought a new lapel mic for it

I've been using smartLav recently, and so far it's doing a good job for me. I've been using it in conjunction with my VideoPro shotgun mic and it's come in hand already as a backup when my battery died in the VP.

I plan to use this until I bite the bullet and drop $400-600 on a nice wireless system.

I wouldn't go cheap on a wireless mic. I had an Audio-Technica PRO 88 which cost about $130 at the time. It did alright on occasion, but then out of no where it would act up and I would get a lot of static. I would save up and go with Sennheiser EW100 G3. You can find them used around $450-$500.
