    Hey all,

A few months ago I had new strings installed on my bow. Everything has been working fine up until a few days ago. for some odd reason my peep sight is no longer lining up when I draw my bow. if I work the line I can kind of get it to go back into the proper spot but the next draw it will be off again.

Any idea as to what is causing this? I would go to my local shop that installed it, however they are out for an archery tournament right now in Illinois.

    Thanks.

It is called String Twist. It happens when a new string is installed on a bow. I had a new string put on my bow earlier this year and after about 25 shots the Peep Sight was twisted. I took it back to the Pro Shop and he fixed it in a couple of minutes.

Why don't you just twist the loop in the direction of the peep , if you shoot a loop ..

Are you going to remember to twist that loop to line up the peep before you draw on a deer? Have the shop readjust the peep, only takes a minute.

If the loop isn't tight enough it can cause the peep to not line up , if it lines up after moving just cinch it tighter to stop it from moving ...

Ditto on the Line twist get it in a bow vise and straighten. If you have the option shoot it a bunch while at the pro shop. Some strings need broken in.

What strings did you get? Just wondering,. Anyway, it shouldn't move or twist. All of my string settle in few shots. A shop can fix it if you don't have a Press.

yep... strings stretch... takes a few shots to settle in... get it adjusted at the shop, and if ya got good strings ya shouldn't have anymore problems with it till it's time for new ones again

I think people need to read what this the OP said.
The guy said he had the strings installed a few months ago, and that they were" working fine" up till a couple days ago.

Good strings don't take " a few months" to shoot in. They take a few shots for the serving to settle and rotate then after that they should be solid till they need replacement.
What you got is a string that wasn't prestretched enough when it was built. You can put band aids on it with a loop adjustment or a twist in the string but most likely you will keep running into the same problem.

Honestly.... Most likely what you see is what you got. An unstable string. But I can see trying to fix it.

I would press the bow and put one twist in the string. Reinstall the peep. After that point if it moves at any time I would replace the string with custom string from a good builder.

    BTW who built the string?
